The manual mentions checking for contaminates and fluid levels every year on the PCM V-drive. I'm trying to remove one of the drain/fill plugs. Is there a trick to removing it? It's square, so I'm using a normal wrench. It appears that 10mm is the right size (I thought it would be SAE). I'd rather get a larger ratchet on it, but don't have any square sockets. I'll probably spray with liquid wrench penetrating oil to see if that helps.

I think the problem is that it’s painted with the plug already on. I had some luck with running a razor around the plug before removing it to cut the paint. That made it a lot easier.

I used a box wrench to remove mine, I think a 3/8" fit it real snugly? Socket set seemed to want to strip it and there is not much room down there. The first time removed is a bear cause the threads are coated with some kind of paste. I stopped too after trying the first time cause I thought something was up.
