Not 100% sure where to start this but here it is.
for anyone who has had different propulsion systems, we all know nothing is fool proof bullet proof or indestructable.
me, i grew up on the water, parents had been boating before i came along there was a mix of outboards and io runabout types.
Ive had 3 io's boats, the nautique is my 4th boat and 1st shaft strut and rudder boat.
I specifically bought it because its an inboard and it's small, not just to ski but to cruise and enjoy around the spoil islands and sandbars
it will ski swim picnic and whatever else.
I'm not up on the cost of a trans/vdrive shaft strut and rudder, but smart money says one of these is maybe 17 18 grand.
i dont see this being a threat to ole reliable, but i'm old fashioned.
