    PSA check your AC-Delco plugs!

Just thought I'd post what I learned this weekend. My boat ('08 230 ZR6) overnight developed a miss, it ran great on Saturday, wakeboarded a set, hung out to watch sunset, then a putt putt cruise home. Took it out Sunday and it was missing. Hmmm.
I was able to determine that cylinder #7 was the culprit. Since I haven't put new wires on it since I've owned her, get a set of new plug wires to try. Still missing, switched coil packs, nope.
I couldn't tell if the injector was firing, so I tried the "stethoscope method" not conclusive. I was trying to find a Rinda scanner but couldn't get my hands on one.
Then I figured it couldn't hurt to change the #7 plug (hadn't considered plugs as they were replaced last year). Bang, that was it!! The plug I removed didn't look bad at all (they are the Iridium versions).
I think I purchased the "new plugs" last year through Rock Auto, maybe I got a bogus set? I've read that there are some knockoffs floating around on these. I just thought to post here in case somebody else runs into a weird problem like this.

How many hours on the boat? I had similar issues but it was due to exhaust manifold gaskets leaking. They didn't leak at idle while snooping around but they sure did at 3500rpm's. The boat would run fine for a while then eventually develop the misfire. Once the misfire set in, it wouldn't go away until the next trip out. Keep an eye on them
