So the family just got me a new GoPRO HERO9 Black and was curious if anyone had luck or difficulty getting one to connect to their Linc system on the Nautique. I know people have had difficulty with certain models in the past, but figured I would ask before taking the hour long drive to the boat in case their was some trick. Not even sure if the new software will work based on what others have said in regards to the 8. If nothing else I will post an update in a week or two when I get out to try.

If you get it to work you will be the first. To the best of my knowledge GoPro changed the communications protocol in Hero 8 to thwart knock off devices from controlling their cameras. This has meant LINC will not connect to any camera past the Hero 7.

Stopped by the boat today and tried to link the GoPro HERO 9 Black and as expected no joy. The boat never found the camera with the WiFi on and verified via my cell phone.Originally posted by Gtsum2 View Post

No surprise. If you watch the 2021 G21 overview video (the newest boat), Shaun uses a GoPro 7 to demonstrate the camera mount option.

I agree with Charles. Get the GoPro 9 and the Smart Remote. Velcro the Smart Remote to the dash. It works every time. The only year the LINC / GoPro connection worked flawlessly was in 2018.
The phone connection works reliably but the video preview it uses consumes the battery very quickly.
