Did you check to see if you have voltage to the positive side of the coil? Did the new distributor come with a new distributor cap and rotor?

How are you verifying spark? The only way to really do it it to get out a multimeter and start chasing voltage from the ignition wire to the spark plugs. Where is the voltage failure? Does it make it to the coil? Does it make it to the distributor? Also, don’t rule out fuel. What’s your pressure at the rail? Hearing it prime doesn’t mean anything. The diaphragm could be completely blown and it may not be pumping anything. Or it may be pumping but no longer holding pressure.

Fuel pumps and kill switches can be a bear to troubleshoot and I've fallen prey to both of them on several occasions. Only way to be sure on the kill switch IMO is to jump it. Only way to be sure on the fuel pump is a gauge on the fuel rail.

Couple other items to be aware of that I've ran into that was hard to figure out.....
        • Ignition Switch - If you have a key ignition, I fixed an intermittent failure on a Malibu this summer with a switch replacement. The lug on the back of the switch cracked in the housing and was falling off.
        • Neutral safety switch - The neutral safety switch in the throttle lever assembly went bad on a friends MC I worked on. we did have a bit of a warning on this one as from time to time you'd have to shake the lever a bit to get it to turn over. This doesn't really sound like your issue but it may be worth quickly examining the lever to see if anything is amiss.

        Good luck....
