Stuck drain plug in transmission water jacket

2007 SANTE TE. Brass water drain plug in the transmission cooler / water jacket is absolutely stuck. I have tried all kinds of chemicals to break it loose, no luck. Got a 1/2” air impact on it......nothing. Suctioned the water out of the jacket and even tried some heat on it. For nowhere! Boats in a heated shop and I put antifreeze in the water jacket so I have no worries. Would just like to be able to get this plug out if I ever need to winterize in a hurry. Any ideas are appreciated!

Unless you can get a ton of heat into it (which is really going to be difficult without removing it) I don't see many alternatives. Even then you're still going to risk snapping off the head. Cutting the head flush then drilling an tapping would be the only other thing that comes to mind. Got to wonder if someone had the bright idea of using something like loctite to seal it in there.

The good news is they're not that expensive and to be truthful I very rarely ever pull that plug when winterizing. I typically pull the hose to check for any garbage in the cooler and drain the cooler that way. It's one hose clamp, a good twist and a pull to get it off. Probably why it's stuck so bad, no one ever pulled it out.

Appreciate the response. I think I just need to ignore it and keep winterizing as I have been. It could turn into one of those situations where I mess with it until it gets really bad!! The plug is actually a female plug that takes a 1/2” drive extension so your thought of drill and tap may be an option. Access is horrible, probably just best left alone!
