    GT-40 throttle linkage question

I was winterizing my GT-40 and noticed the 1/2" long brass nut with the small nut behind it was loose. Is this normal? What does this serve as? Should it be tight or set at a specific tightness. Will this effect performance? Below is a close up photo followed by an expanded photo. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

I'll check mine when I get home tonight. The chrome screw looks like a lock nut. Are they both loose or just the brass?.

The long brass nut and the small screw behind it are both loose. It looks like the long brass nut should screw into the threads but it does not want to thread.

the brass nut is the perfect pass cable connection. It threads onto the existing throttle cable but should not thread onto the other "tube" that contains the PP cable.

I'm going from memory but I think it looks to me that your system has always been this way....

I think you could snug up the back nut, just to make the brass nut doesn't move anywhere.

The small nut should be tight against the big nut (almost sounds obscene). The perfect pass installation instructions should include the details about this connection.
