Oil Pressure switch SANTE 2003

I need some advice on this matter.
Recently, the check engine light came on and , having experienced this previously, removed the wire attached to the oil pressure switch,and all was fine.
Having received a replacement switch from the factory, i installed the new switch and the light remains on.
Is there another reason, or switch that causes this "check engine" light to come on?

The only other sensor that could cause that light to come on is the temperature sensor. Try disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes to clear the check engine light code, and see if that takes care of it.
