    1999 Pro Air Ballast Pumps

    Hi guys-

I just picked up a 1999 Pro Air Nautique. I have not had a Launch Control System before. The electric pump side of the the LCS does not work. Where should I start? I looked for a fuse panal but have not found that yet. I have only had the boat for two days so please excuse my ignorance.

On another note... I got a Nautique though because my parents still have there 1983 2001 that they bought brand new and it still is nicer than some of the newer boats built today.

I have already learned a ton by just surfing this board already. Thanks!!!

You should still be able to fill and empty your tanks without the pumps, the pumps only assist or speed up the process. I had an inline fuse just behind the fill/empty switch. If you have power the pumps are probably bad. BTW, there are (2) pumps, 1 for fill and the other for empty.

I may be mistaken but it seems like the LCS pump fuse on my '99 Pro was located in the bildge area. I believe they changed locations in future years. You should be able to "hear" the pumps running with the engine off if you open the engine compartment...

I also had a blown inline fuse located in that mass of wires behind the dash in my 99 air.....so if you get no power readings at the ballast switch located under the throtle arm, check the fuse.

Also, if a pump is blown, you can pick it up a new one at walmart for like $25.

Ok, it is the pumps. Any suggestions on replacements? I would love to fill while sitting at the dock if possiable.

          Thanks,

          Brett

I replaced mine with exactly the same ones that came with the boat new, IRC they are Aerator or live well pumps so they should be easy to find. With the pumps working you should be able to fill/empty moving or sitting still.

The factory pumps are Atwood 750's. They are pretty cheap to replace. I had one replaced under warranty 4 years ago and haven't had any issues since. I think the biggest reason they go bad, is they get left on inadvertently and burnout.
