Check engine light and alarm going of 2007 CC Nautique 196 Excalibur 330

Just put the Nautique back together for the season and dropped her in the water. She's pulling water and running perfectly normal. After accelerating to 34 MPH for 15 seconds or so the check engine light and alarm horn go off. Slow down the engine and then it goes off. Any ideas ? bad sensor ? Was planning on pulling and replacing the impeller (its probably the original) The temp gauge is staying around 170 though but maybe there is not enough water flow ? Please send ideas on what to check and solve. Thanks in advance !

Thank you ! - I wasn't bright enough to read the gauge message. "Knock Sensor - see dealer" temp gauge is static at 160. It is a Limited. I only thought I should change the impleller since I have not changed it in the 3 years I have owned it, and it had low hours (265) and had not been in the water for a few years prior to the purchase.

Can I easily replace the knock sensor or is this a dealer fix ?

An original impeller from 2007 will be in very rough shape. Those should be replaced every year or two.

The check engine light can only be triggered by high engine temperature or low oil pressure. Assuming your boat is a Limited or a Team (not a Signature), your gauges should have a digital readout at the bottom that will tell you why the light is coming on. What does the display say?

There are 2 knock sensors on the sides of the block where you drain the block for the winter . Make sure they are tight to the block.

I probably don't deserve to be a Nautique owner....but I will own up.

The knock sensors work when they are connected to the wire clip, thus preventing the alarm to sound and sensor to function. I neglected to connect these and complete summer operation set up. Check the simplest things first my dad always told me.

Maybe this will help someone else one day.

I promise to wash and wax her 15 more times this season !
