I just bought a 1999 super sport. On the test run everything mechanical checked out. There was a noise (grinding kind of) coming from the V-Drive. Increase with RPMs. It accelerated great and pulled great no hesitation. Checked all fluids when I purchased it, which all checked out. I did however change all fluids anyway. Almost sounds like a bearing? Out of the water turning the shaft it turns freely. Any suggestions would be great. Trying to figure out if it could be a bearing or if the drive is going out. Thanks in advance

Congrats and welcome to Nautique! Please post some pics of your new to you boat. And it’s gonna be very helpful if you can post a video of the noise you are hearing.2009 Super Air Nautique 210 TE

I don’t know a lot about these but could it be coming from transmission? I think there is more opportunity for an issue there rather than vdrive. Think the v drives are almost bulletproof with good oil. I think the tranny has a flywheel or something in them like that than can go bad or wear out. Hopefully someone knows more than me and can post if I’m way off here, lol

99 is probably a Walters v-drive. They’re not unreliable but they’re hardly bomb-proof. They’re also a little noisy sometimes. Like someone else suggested a video would be helpful.
