Stupid question on PCM H6 17 G23

So got my boat out of storage put all the plugs back in, batteries etc. My 6 yr old wanted to listen to music while I put the Bimini on. She pressed the start button a little too long and the motor started spinning over. It never started but it got me thinking. Will the H6 start and run with no water flowing through it? I'm not asking so I can do it I'm asking so I don't waste my time taking it to the ramp only to find out it's not going to run when I get there since it didn't start few min ago. It turned over a good 15-20sec and never started.

It should start and run, assuming it has air, fuel, and spark... but running it dry will not be good for the impeller or the cooling system and isn't recommended as far as I know.

The engine doesn't know/care if it has water flowing to it. It should have started. Any chance the lanyard is disconnected?

15-20 seconds is a LONG time to be cranking the engine over.

That's what I was thinking. Kinda worried me it didn't start. I looked through the faults and there was one for exhaust temp sensor something

Lanyard was still hooked up. She pressed the start button for a few secs and let go. It spun over for about that time before it stopped. I may be exaggerating but that's how long it seemed.
