Serpentine belt but the dust last time I had the boat out. Had to replace a busted idler pulley too. Apparently the broken belt took out the cam position sensor. It was throwing code DTC 11 distributor position error any time I tried to go over 10mph. Found a broken connector in the bilge in the aftermath. I assume it’s the cam position sensor. I haven’t been able to find a good diagram. Anyone know exactly where it is located?

Just by looking at it, I can tell you that it is a cam position sensor harness. It’s the same as a Chevy 1500 with a 5.3 or 6.2. I’ve had to replace them. It’s located behind the crank pulley. When they do go bad the power control module code on Chevy trucks is P0011.
It’s not the easiest sensor to replace!!!

I was able to get a technician at work to repair the harness. Boat ran fine after repair, but now I have a major oil leak from the crank pulley. I guess the belt remnants tore up the crank seal. Replacement doesn't look too bad but can't get the parts until at least Monday.

I wouldn’t doubt it if The O-ring for the cam sensor is leaking. If the belt was able to damage the harness to the cam sensor then it probably damaged the O-ring as well. At the very least it’s worth checking to make sure the cam sensor O-ring is not leaking.

Off topic but which lake are you normally on? I'm about 30min east of Bham and we go to Smith, Logan Martin, Neeley, Weiss. Boat stays at Logan Martin mostly unless we go to one of the other lakes. Right now its in my driveway with misfire issues which Im hoping is the HP Fuel Pump.

We're usually on the Tennessee river in Huntsville. Occasionally make a trip to Smith or Tim's Ford.
