Turning Prop by Hand - Ease My Mind

Yeah, this is a dumb newby question--bear with me, and be nice.

I put a new prop on today ('07 SV211 TE). I didn't get a chance to get it in the water, but when I turn the prop/driveshaft by hand on the trailer, it squeaks from the strut.

Please tell me this is normal and because it's dry. It didn't make noise in the water last weekend.

Very normal. I once put the boat in gear accidentally when just popping the engine over. It howled like a coyote at midnight with a full money. Scared the heck out of me. It's fine.

That's what I figured, but I needed reassurance. Thank you!!!

Squirt some water/dish-soap mix onto the prop shaft before spinning. Smooooooth. If you ever need to engage your trans while on the trailer, that is a good way to keep your strut bearing from frying. [Safety notice: BE CAREFUL if you ever do this]

Got a quick lake test in today. Everything is peachy (as expected), and my new prop stayed in new condition. Thanks again, guys.
