Upgrade older Surf Select to 3.0 Module

Has anyone upgraded their older Surf Select to the newer 3.0 version that works with garmin watch & app?
Is this even possible?

Have a 2016 and would love to do away with the crappy remote that I've gone through about 10 of. Never got my boat working with a pebble POS watch. That ship has sailed.

kylant my guess is you buy the module and the FOB separately. My plan would be to run the watch as I will use it for biking as well.

I just got the Garmin Fenix 6 and it linked up to the boat instantly without any problems. Works great with the boat and as a sports watch. The blue FOB is worthless and has never worked well if at all with my surf select 3.0. Have a 2020 G23 just for reference. Big thumbs up for the Fenix watch

Rad! Looking forward to never touching those remotes again. They're worthless. Really disappointing product from Nautique + the fact the system ran on pebble that went obsolete so quickly.

Malibu's come with a watch style remote that does it all and I've hear it works really well. No need to buy a $600 watch aftermarket. One thing they surely have done right over Nautique.

Kmayotte I had my dealer up grade my 2017 to it last month. I havent had a chance to take it out yet and try it. Only concern I had in the Linc is it still says "connect pebble" Hoping to get some more info next week after the holiday craziness.

Not to pry too much, but was did they charge you for the upgrade? I am thinking this maybe a fall/winter trip to the dealer as they are hours away.

Not sure if anyone is still looking for info on this, but was looking into doing this on our 2016 SAN 230. Already have a garmin watch and figured it would be a nice upgrade.

I asked the guy about cost for the new module and he said it was about $500 (plus a garmin watch, cheapest one that is compatible is could be found for maybe $100) - he mentioned though that the tech still kinda sucks, watch disconnected randomly, and it was all a bit of a gimmick in the end.

Gimmick? Not for me and my crew. Everyone uses it. We won't leave the dock without it.

Completely agree with charlesml3 - I have a Fenix 5 Plus and it works flawlessly with my Linc. If I forget the watch at the house I'll run back to get it (granted it's only 5 minutes away). I did finally get a new replacement blue fob that works (I think I have a total of 6 replacements now), but the Garmin is so much better. FYI, you can switch between the fob and watch (e.g., if I don't want to share my watch without having to change any settings or reset anything.
