Gauge Replacement - Hour Meter Reset to Zero

Well apparently I found the cheapest way in the world to get a zero hour boat. I had to replace the 4 in 1 (or however many in 1) gauge that has the tack and hour meter in it. After replacement my hours are now set to zero. I thought the ECU set the hour meter and the correct hours would be displayed after the replacement. Apparently I was wrong (there I go thinking again). Is there any way to set the new hour meter to what the ECU would reflect or is this something I have to document and live with? Of course I didn't write down the hours from the old meter but since I didn't toss it is there a way to power up the gauge and get the hours off it?

Is this on your 2016 Sport 200? If so, you can definitely pull the hours from the ECU if needed, but the non-LINC boats that had analog gauges may not have gauges that are smart enough to read from the ECU. You could supply 12-volt power to the gauge for the same number of hours as shown by the engine ECU to get them to match up.

Yes it is and thanks Jeff. I figured it was going to be something like that. Sounds like a winter project as I'm at something like 540 hours so I'm going to have to leave it on a little over 3 weeks to get it to the old number. Hmmmm... Maybe I'll just power up the old one and write that number down somewhere and have the ECM read if I ever go to sell the boat.

One of the only disappointments I have with my 08 210 is the hour meter. It stopped at 999.9 with no way to reset it . Faria blames Nautique Nautique blames Faria. The end result is I don't have a working hour meter. I installed a cheap gauge in the engine compartment to track oil changes . Every thing on my boat is pristine except for the broken hour meter that cant be fixed.
