Stripped NSS Mounting Plate Screws - 2020 G21

    Hey all,

On my 2020 G21, I was checking to make sure that the NSS cover plate screws were tight (a friend’s had backed out), and noticed that there are 2 screws on each actual NSS plate (not the plastic covers) that are accessible with the covers still on. I checked all 4, and found that 1 screw on each plate was stripped. Is there a product that anyone recommends that can be used to fill the screw hole, via squeegee or syringe, that will bind and harden and allow me to properly set the screws? Or am I going at this completely wrong? I don’t think a larger diameter screw will fit in the NSS plate mounting hole.

I realize that this is a warranty issue, but the dealer is 4 hours away and backed up like everyone else. Thanks in advance!

Fibreglass resin into the hole? Cant see why that wouldn’t work.

      Nohlan,

Thanks for the quick response. That sounds like a good approach to me as well, but wanted to throw it out there to the PN hive mind. Unless someone knows a trick I don’t, that sounds like the way to go. Thanks!!

Depending on how visible it is too you could use a gel coat kit too. That stuff gets really hard as well.

Understood. Wonder which one would work better? And be easiest to apply? Ideally I’d like to syringe something into hole so I don’t have to disassemble the NSS plates…
