    Perfect pass disengages

Perfect pass keeps disengaging. It goes on, but never sets and when I go back to neutral it is off again. I checked the paddle wheel and no visible damage and spinning freely. I've also reset and same result.

    Any ideas?

Unfortunately, I don't know what is wrong. Give Mark Schwarz at Perfect Pass a call on Monday. He is very helpful.
    Ski on dude!

Hi, Which of the two boats you have listed in your signature is having the problem? Was it working at some point in the past? Also, which version of PP do you have?

Ok - so it could be the PP gauge unit itself, or it could be your Faria gateway is starting to go and that is causing issues. The original PP in that boat is more RPM based than anything else. If any of your other gauges are not working or behaving weirdly its probably the faria gateway…

upgrading to the GPS Stargazer edition of PP will both bypass the faria gateway and get you a new display unit.

Thanks.... That is what I was afraid of. My Tach has been acting up. Last year at the end of season it wasn't working and this year went out and was working. The oil gauge is in and out.

Will the old PP work with the gateway replacement?

I have a Gateway box I could be persuaded to part with.

Not sure on whether the original PP will work with the Gateway box bypass kit. The other problem is the kit from Nautiqueparts.com are back ordered until July.

I had problems with PP not engaging intermittently, and intermittently flakey fuel gauge and oil pressure gauge on an 07 SV211 TE. Numerous calls to PP for troubleshooting over a few years led to lots of multimeter testing, rewiring the PP isolated ground, rewiring the PME power and ground, rewiring the battery cables, replacement of the PP LCD gauge, replacement of the PP module circuit board. There was no improvement after all of this. This year Gary, the President of PP, wanted me to buy the Nautique Analog gauge kit to bypass the Gateway. However, when I would remove the PP Y-harness that connected the Engine ECM to the Gateway to the PP module and connect the Engine ECM directly to the Gateway I found that the fuel gauge and oil pressure gauge worked flawlessly. In the end, the problem was due to intermittent continuity of all pins in the PP Y-harness that connected the Engine ECM to the Gateway to the PP module. At the PP tech support I found that Mark was always helpful. Gary was often fairly grumpy. Aaron told me he didn't have time for my effing sh@% and hung up the phone on me. Ultimately, be sure to thoroughly continuity check your PP Y-harness.
