Steam coming from the exhaust of my Air Nautique GT40

    Hello Everbody,

My name is Leonard, i am from the Netherlands (so don't check on my English please), i own a Air Nautique GT40 from 1999 and i am new here!

Sinds a couple months i am the proud owner of a Air Nautique with a GT40. But when i accelerate and cruise on higher speed the exhaust steams/smokes. It's not thick but i do think that it's to much steam for the water temperature at the moment. The enige doesn't get really hot, goes up to 170.

Can anyone tell me what i could do?

I've added a picture, it's taken out of a movie so it's not greate quality but the green surrounded is steam.

How hot are the exhaust manifaults? After a 5min run at 3000 rpm mine are hot but I can still touch them.
If the are any hotter you dont have enough water flow bad impeller or clogged manifault.
If you smell any gas after the run you are running to rich could be a fuel injector or sensor.
From the picture it looks more like cooling water.

Peter6000 thanks for your quick reaction. I am going to check the manifaults, as soon as i can, i recently order a new impeller so i hope that's the fix.
I didn't notice any gas smell. And if i rev the engine in neutral there is no steam.

What was the temperature the day that movie was taken. Looks like the way your passengers were dressed to be a pretty cool day. Does it steam like that on a 70 degree F day????

mpost That was a cold day indeed, it was the only video I had where I captioned the steam. It also steamed like this last weekend when it was around 72 degree..

I chang my impeller once a year if it needs it or not.

My super sport with the GT40 always sent steam out of the exhaust until the water temp got up pretty high.
