8/17 update. Dealer states wiring harness failed the test PCM sent them and needs to be replaced. Spoke with PCM last Tuesday to sort out some warranty stuff and she stated it was ordered. Dealer texted today to give an update. They haven't received the harness. I reached out to PCM since I was already working with them and was informed they were mistaken about it being in stock. Its on Backorder unfortunately. At this point I've got to write this summer off as a failure. School is back in, its mid August and now stuck waiting on a engine harness.

Anyone know where I could possibly buy one in stock? I'd drive it to the dealer myself. I believe its RA121122

10/21 Still no engine harness. PCM said early September which has turned into early November. By the time I get my boat back gas should be roughly $6 a gallon

Sorry to hear that. Sucks. I am here in Alabama too. I ski at Lake Martin. I suppose you are dealing with Russell. When you get it back, I have a drysuit if you need a surfing partner. Ha! Since you missed the entire season.

Thanks! Yeah Russell in Alex City. I called all over the state they they told me "oh bring it in and shouldn't take 2-3 weeks" Well that was in the beginning of June. They've also taken it to Kowaliga to let them diagnose while on Martin with no luck. I would say I'd take you up on that offer but its looking like next season before I get it back then I wont need a dry suit lol.

I've never been on Lake Martin. We're just east of Bham so normally my boat stays at a marina on Logan Martin with the occasional pull to Smith Lake. If I can get it back around April we can meet up on Lake Martin sometime. Or if you're up for it and I get it back next month we can go lol.

12/22 update. Not sure if anyone is reading these but hopefully it helps someone along the line should they ever run into whatever issue this has yet to be identified. Wiring harness has been received after a 4 month backorder wait. It was installed with new grounds over the span of last week and this week. No change in the issue. Still doesn't run smoothly in or out of the water over 2500rpm. I was told the ecm would be swapped to rule It out over the next few days probably next week with the holidays. At this point we are no closer than we were when I dropped it off in June. At some point I'll have good news to post but not looking promising for the foreseeable future.

I've been following since the beginning. It's such a complex and unique situation. It's good that the shop is working hard to get you back on the water… hang in there bro.

Ugly. Boats under warranty right? Do lemon laws apply here....that is the mfg gets so many attempts to resolve and then after that additional remediations become available?

Obviously I'm removed from the details but I'd be thinking about elevating the conversation to getting a full replacement engine if additional attempts continue to fail. Is something like that even on the table?

Thats correct its under warranty until June 22. I'm not sure but I plan on starting the process if this ecm doesn't work. Essentially I've lost 6 months of my warranty and counting so far with a boat thats been sitting since June. Engine has passed all tests and has less than 120hrs on it. To me it seems something electrical is the problem. Dealer assures me not to worry about the warranty but easier said than done when I could potentially get it back a month or two before warranty expires then what if something fails over the summer? I wont know because I havent been able to use it since May of this year.

I’m having the same issue with my 2017 G23 with the H6. Sputtering under load, but runs fine. I’ve done similar things you have: replaced the plugs, replaced the HP fuel pump, and checked the grounds. All with no change. I’ve also pulled the manifolds, flushed them and removed the catalytic converters.

My next step will be to check the MAF voltage when I have it under load - PCM somehow the integrated the MAF into a rubber ring that surrounds the spark arrestor. I’m thinking this may be the problem - especially if the ECM is using the MAF data to adjust fuel levels. Good luck to you and I’ll keep you posted if I find anything.

Mine doesnt run fine. It will not rev over 2500rpm under load. It will start popping and act like its on the rev limiter. In neutral in or out of the water you can slowly move the throttle up to over 5000rpm. Any quick blip then it starts popping. Its also hard to start

It would be interesting to see fuel rail pressure as you move throttle.

If I was in your shoes, I'd be doing the following:

                              1. Bypass the dealer and make direct contact with Nautique's warranty department. Find out who knows about your problem, get their name and contact information. Maybe you start by asking the dealer who's the Nautique warranty manager who's responsible for your fix.
                              2. Start asking questions to that person at Nautique about 'how long do we continue down the repair path before we go to plan b'. I'd set a timeboxed expectation on how much longer this goes on.
                              3. Get a plan b defined now - to me...plan B would likely be a new engine and harness or something significant like that. It's not 'keep throwing parts at it and hope....'

The loss of use you've experienced due to the inability to execute a repair warrants direct escalation. I would let the dealer continue on their course of action but make sure I to have a direct path back to the factory with a named person who is directly aware of your case and owns plan b. This has the potential to become the old insanity proverb - doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome - and I'd take steps now to not let this drag into spring.

Great advice! I will give the dealership a couple days (Closed today) to swap the ecm before I start that process. I do know he's trying his best but unfortunately the times we live in when it comes to Boats/Parts suck. I talked with PCM every week from August up until the harness was finally instock 4 months later so thats a good chunk of time spent wasted right there. But you're absolutely correct.

edit: I decide to go ahead and reach out to Nautique directly instead of waiting. I've waited long enough so maybe this will get things moving.
