    Warning Code SPN - 6000 FMI 4

I was hoping someone might be able to help me out. I am getting this warning code every time I start the boat. It goes away once I acknowledge it. Unfortunately I am about 5 hours from the dealership. The boat is 2013 G25 w/ 550 motor.

Update, called the nautique customer care number and they said that spn is not in the pcm book of codes. Stumped.

Did you end up getting this figured out? If so care to share, I have the same boat and it has been flashing this code for the 2nd half of the summer.

Anything attached to the CAN Bus can generate a J-1939 Fault Message. That one is more than likely not coming from the usual sources such as the engine. If you go into the diagnostics screen see if you can find a SA value or any other details. SA stands for Source Address. That would help identify which device on the CAN Bus is generating this fault. Possible source I can think of, but not likely a full list, GPS Module, Depth / Temp Module, PDM, Speed Control Module such as Zero Off.

I'd be willing to bet that when you called Nautique, they only looked at the engine fault code list.

I went and checked the J-1939 standards documentation. Assuming the device generating the fault is following the standard, then SPN 6000 is "Switched Power Output Command" and FMI 4 is "Voltage Below Normal". So, the fault must be coming from the PDM or from the Linc display itself since it also has inputs and outputs. Unfortunately, the Murphy Screen and PDM documentation doesn't list any info on the faults they generate. But something isn't right with whatever some output is connected too. I would guess that output is shorted to ground. But that's just a guess. Only Nautique would be able to tell you more.
