2000 super air Nautique prop for wakesurfing

Hi I'm trying to find the ideal prop for wakesurfing. I'm at 6200ft and running 2500-2800#s of ballast. I called acme and they are recommending the acme 420 for my situation. I just haven't seen this prop mention in any other threads on this topic. Also a little skeptical because the blade size is smaller than the other prop suggestions that get tossed around on here

    I think we used the 1433 or 1435 on our 2004 210

I'm a right hand rotation so from what I understand I have to get the even numbered props, I'll check out dimensions of those props and see if they have a rh equivalent thanks

ACME's recommendations are usually spot on. I'd ask them their reasoning. They'll tell you. Seems really low diameter to me. I ran an ACME 1234 on my 95 Super Sport with the same hull. That's a 1.5" larger diameter prop. I wonder if they're having you go smaller in diameter because you may be lugging the engine at altitude with anything larger?

Yeah they said they don't make a 12.5 pitch in the 13.5" diameter prop so I think they're assuming I can't got bigger? I just sent an email asking about going to a 14". I wish I knew what prop I had right now but she's in the water and it's a little hard to get the numbers. She does alright out of the hole Im just getting so much prop wash on the port side it's hard to get a clean wave with my shaper. I'm hoping a prop that doesn't have to work as hard helps, also my current prop has a few nicks in it

Try OJ, I've had very good results with their recommendations and service.

Just put an ACME 1578 on our 2000 SAN this season. Very happy, big difference. Lost a little top end, but still plenty of go for us and it gets out of the hole and takes turns (with a tube) much better.

Yeah I'm probably going to go with the 1578. I'm going to pull the boat out of the water in a few days and make sure it's not the one I already have. If it is the one I already have I'll go with something different. I'll give an update once I have the new prop installed and running serious ballast weight

Hey, we've got a new to us '95 SS, just kitting it out now, will be at 1460ft. We have 2 - 500lb bags for the rear, may upgrade to 800's. And thinking of doing 300 in the bow.
Mostly surfing, some tubing (but don't really care about that performance), some slalom, and not much cruising.

                  Wake Makers recommends:
                  856 - Recreational/Everything
                  644 - WakeBoard/WakeSurf
                  1578 - HighElevation/Heavily Weighted

                  What are your thoughts?

I went from an acme 644 to an acme 1578. Running 3000lbs at 6000ft the 1578 gets me out the hole no problem but I definitely lost mph off the top. Running less weight (2000lbs) at elevation the 644 definitely did the job

As I stated above I went with an acme 1234 on my 95 Super Sport running similar weight to what you’re looking at. It’s not Wakemakers suggestion but Wakemakers lumps all SS/pre-2006 SAN together. The hull is the same. But either due to shaft length or engine position the older Super Sports have about a full inch more clearance so they can accommodate a larger prop. The ACME 1234 is the same pitch and cup as the 1578. It’s just a larger diameter.
