    Oil Filter Equivalent for R077001

My G23 uses the Pleasure-craft R077001 oil filter but the last two filters I installed experienced seal leaks. Does anyone know of an equivalent in another
    quality brand.

All these oil filters will work (K&N is my go to)

    Pleasurecraft R077001
    K&N HP-3001
    Mobile M1-301
    Fram XG8A

Of note though, the oil filter should have very little to do with a seal leaking. Make certain you are lubricating the seal with clean oil before installation and applying enough torque. Unless the seal as physically damaged upon inspection these should not be leaking if properly lubricated and tightened.

The most common cause of filter seal leaks is the gasket from the old oil filter gets left on by mistake. They can separate easily when you remove the old filter.

I checked that when I removed the first filter that was leaking and that was not the case. The first filter I tightened snug with a wrench so I decided that it might be too tight as it was hard to remove. The second filter leaks slightly less with only a good hand tightening. Going to tighten it tighter with a wrench and if that does not work I’ll install a third one ( Fram extended guard) and barely hand tighten and see it a gentle tightening is what works. Wish me luck!
