2002 Super Sport - Temperature Gauge

Hey All, I'm a newbie and just recently purchased this boat. The temperature gauge has stopped working, so wondering if its a easy fix or not. On start up it's dead, no movement but periodically comes alive and shows 160 (ish) and then immediately dies again. It does this again and again while in operation. Any ideas?

Since the gauge is working intermittently the first and easiest thing to do is to be sure you have good/clean electric contact for the wires at the gauge and the temperature sender on the engine. Without knowing what engine you have 160 degrees is about where you should be.
