    Throttle Position Sensor test

    2007 Zr6.
    Which wires should I test?
    TPS has 8 wires.
Boat would go in gear at idle speed but not accelerate.

    Is this drive by wire?

It's mechanical throttle cable. Old style potentiometer/TPS.

Usually only 3 are used test the connector on the boat with ignition on sensor connected. You should have one pin with +5V and one ground.
Any of the others is you position signal 0 to 5V depending on position.
It could also be a digital sensor that communicates to the ECU via can bus than you need the software/tester to talk to the ECU.

Do you have a part no for the sensor?
          What engine is this?

I have already pulled the above potentiometer/TPS from the boat. Are you saying it needs to be tested on the boat?

After talking to the dealer, I re installed the TPS, so I could l drop it off for service. Dropped the boat in the water...fired right up, operated completely normal....
