no throttle but it goes in gear/reverse

I was driving my 2006 SANTE 220 today and I have had zero problems with the boat in the last 12 years I have owned the boat.
Today I was leaving the launch ramp area, put the boat in gear all is good. The moment I tried to go, I had not throttle. It was like the cable came disconnected or something. I checked that all was good. It would go into reverse and forward only at idle speeds it engaged (no gas) almost like the perfect pass took control. I then turned off the ignition then back back on and the issue went away, (for a while) this happened intermittently thorough the day. I was driving then it happened, turned it off/back on it went away. no clue how to trouble shoot this!! now I am afraid to take the boat out... any advice ? help needed.

It sounds like your potentiometer (throttle position sensor) is failing.

did the TPS resolve the issue? i had a similar issue yesterday and after a total boat reboot it worked fine for a little while then started again.
