    No power, where to start/check

    Hello All,

1995 SS, 5.8. Was on the lake yesterday and had no issues. I got home and went to open rear cover and no power to open. Saw dash and no light next to ignition. Took seat back off and check batts and I still show 12.4 and 12.2 volts respectively. Also ran check on Perko switch and it also shows 12.4 volts. I disconnected the cables from Perko and ran it straight to battery. Still no power to ignition button. Where do I go from here?...fuses to check? reset buttons to push? thanks for all advice in advance.

I would start with the safety lanyard and the connections behind the on/off/bilge only toggle.

it's dead...no lights on dash. the lanyard would only keep the motor from starting, it will turn over and not start with lanyard.

does anyone know if the red button needs to be in...i can't push it in, the 2 lower ones are in..

Same thing happened to me a few months ago. I think that ignition wire just works itself loose while the boat is on the trailer

I’ve got a 98 and lost power as well. But it’s only when I try to crank the motor. My ignition key switch broke so I ordered a new one today but even if I try to hot wire it I can’t get the motor cranking. It worked on Saturday for a few minutes but I disconnected the white cable to the starter so the stater would stop spinning but after that it died and now it won’t crank… What fuse or breaker should I check?

I have a 2003 SAN and am currently experiencing the same situation. Battery is charged but no power to the keypad. No activity whatsoever. If I move the toggle switch from "all on" to "bilge pump on" it runs the bilge pump for a few seconds as expected and the red light next to the switch is illuminated. I've checked all the other connections and am not having any luck.

Boat was running great right before a long 1000 mile trip north. I'm figuring something wiggled loose on the trip up but not sure what. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Update: Thank you to AirTool on this forum for the toggle switch suggestion. I was able to get everything running by swapping the bilge pump on with the all on. Ordering new toggle switch now.

I had the same issue on Sunday evening. I also have a 95 SS. Turned out it was corrosion on the common positive on the perko switch. I ended up replacing all the battery cables today
