High idle after used a few minutes.

2004 super air Nautique. After the boat is used for a few minutes the idle begins to race anywhere from 2100RPM to 3200RPM. Have tried to clean the inside of the throttle body and throttle shaft. I lubed all the linkage and pivots. Lubed the inner throttle cable. Added a extra throttle return spring. None of these maintenance items ended up helping. I have found out that turning off the engine and restarting it clears it up immediately, but it happens again. My assumption is a issue with the TPS sensor or some other computer related issue.
I would appreciate any thoughts or fixes anyone has experienced with a positive outcome with this issue.

    Could be a choke issue

Check for vaccum leaks, if fuel injected check idle air control valve. Disconnect it when idle high if idle drops is most likely not bad.

Chokes went out with carburetors. I'm not familiar with Chevy's but it has to have a IAC valve, unless it's drive by wire, that is what controls the idle speed via the ECM. I'd google 2004 Chevy IAC valve and go from there,it could be dirty and sticking.
