It’s a good engine. I loved mine. Here are some things to be aware of: A 95 doesn’t have a Fuel Control Cell (FCC). If your high pressure fuel pump goes out you’ll need to adapt a different pump or install an FCC kit. Neither is the end of the world but the latter is kind of pricey. The ECU is hard to find but people have recently had success mapping onto other Ford ECUs. The 351 block is a lot harder than it used to be to find. Not sure if that will change after COVID shortages or not. Pretty much everything else is readily available for a 95 ProBoss GT-40.

I had a 1994 SN with the Pro Boss. (Wasn’t a GT40). Loved that boat. The "Slant Back" is a sexy design. However, the next hull design “TSC” is a superior wake, so take that into consideration if you are a hard-core skier.

GT40...well my new-to-me-last-year 2001 has the GT40 and it's an outstanding engine. Very strong and runs like a scolded dog. No complaints. As mentioned above, some gremlins can creep in. I'm mostly concerned with the ECM/ECU taking a dump at some point. The rest seems to be plug-and-play with available parts. The "rolling" or "loping" idle has bitten a few folks, but the symptoms, diagnosis, and fixes are well documented (particularly on that "other" site CorrectCraftFan.com)

Well...If judging by my 2001 SN with a GT40, I'd say "go for it". The 2002 has the TSC "2" hull whereas my 2001 has the TSC "1" hull. So far, it has been a great slalom tug and all my ski buddies want to ski the TSC hull.

            What is the asking price?

No question, assuming you are a skier, to go with the 2002 over the 1995. Not that a '95 is a bad boat, they are very skiable and great looking, but like JQ says the wake on the 2002 is just outstanding. IMO the big jump in wake quality was '97 with the TSC and you can't go wrong with a '97 and newer.

I can't remember what years have the dash issues, I think it was about that time, a lot of people have had to upgrade or replace dash switches as they tend to fail. Pretty much any 20-ish year old boat will have it's own set of issues you have to be aware of and possibly fix, just how it goes.

First, way too high a price.
Next, very different boat. I love Sports, my '98 is the same hull as that one. Good slalom boat if very lightly loaded, but not on a par with a '97 up Ski Nautique. Good enough for me but I'm not skiing the course and I like the extra room the Sport gives me.

IMO, that asking price of $25,000 is too high. I paid $15,000 1 year ago for my 2001 Ski with a GT40. Under 200 hours for that price, too.

15K for a 2001 w/200 hours and assuming in good shape is a good price.

I wasn’t even wearing a ski mask at the time…Right place, right time.

My '98 only had 250 hours when I bought it. But, the seller (a very nice guy who posts here occasionally) told me the hour meter had been replaced and it likely had more like 600 on it. That hour meter is still in it, I could really put one over on someone when I sell it if I was that kind of guy! (which I'm not )

JQ, that was quite a deal to say the least! Kodyind, a few of us said that 25k was too high for the 2002 Sport. To give you a bit more guidance (and if anyone disagrees please chime in), if it was in great shape with upholstery that had life left it in, I'd say maybe $18-20,000 is a fair price. If it has any issues or especially if it needs a new interior, which will cost close to $5,000 if done professionally with OE skins, I don't think I'd pay more than $15,000. I know everything has gone up in price and I guess used boats as well, so maybe I'm a bit low in my estimates, not sure.

I had one in my '98 Super Sport; 13 years and nearly 1k hours without significant issues. Highly recommend.
