    2006 SANTE operating temps. (ET)?

    Hi all,
    Couple questions around engine temps.

My analog temp gauge only comes up around the first hash on the gauge. Is that typical or should the needle be pointing straight up towards the halfway mark similar to how a car displays.

I know these gauges are based on resistance so if it’s considered normal they usually float around the halfway mark on the gauge.(I cleaned the sensor wires connection).

My other question was on the digital display on the tach what does ETStand for? Does that indicate engine coolant temp exhaust temp?

My gauge reads pretty accurate. The digital ET is engine temp, and mine runs about 155-165 while under way.

Mine is the same. 165 operating temp, rarely drops below 160. Analog gauge is accurate as well, but I have had it misread a few times. Power off and restart resets it. I always keep the ET selected on the digital display to refer to if in doubt.

My ET runs around 130. Time to replace the gauge sending unit??

I put a thermostat in mine at the last season, mine was stuck shut and started to get a little hot. After I replaced it mine now does the 155 to 165 thing and doesn't miss a beat between those.

Mine was running cool like that last year. The thermostat wasn't completely closing. New thermostat and she runs at 160 now.

Part number like a standard auto thermostat? Or should I just order from online Nautique source?

I just ordered from Nautique Parts. I have an Excalibur 330, which runs a 160 degree thermostat. I don't have the PCM manual with part # handy at work.
Also need a housing gasket. I didn't realize that and had to wait for it to arrive separately.

If you have a PCM Excalibur, it's Nautique Parts #GM-TG for the thermostat kit and RM0121 for the thermostat housing gasket.

I agree, thermostat rather than sending unit. 130 is a little low, but i dont have experience with the excaliber. Im running the zr6 with a closed cooling system. My last nautique was raw water cooled and ran a little cooler but not by much. Should be in the 160 range.

Found my parts manual. Assuming it's an Excalibur with raw water cooling, the thermostat is R026002, the upper gasket is RM0258, and the lower gasket is RM0121 (I had to remove the entire assembly in order to separate it, so I needed RM0121, too). Not sure if you can cross reference those numbers.

If you don't have the Excalibur, ignore this post.

Well i spoke too soon about the accuracy of my analog temp gauge…was out today and it completely died. Pulled the dash pod when I got home and tried to fix it but its toast. Definitely relying on the digital gauge for now. If anyone has a line on 2006 gauges please let me know. Ive heard these can be hard to come by and i really dont want to do the conversion.
