I know you guys are probably sick of reading the same old questions but I am planning on winterizing my boat next weekend and I was wondering about fogging the engine? I have a 97 196 with the Apex and I don't have the engine manual for it and I'm not sure if fogging is necessary or recommended? If there is anyone out there that has one of these engines or has an answer to my question I would really appreciate it. I live in Prince George BC Canada and are winters are about 5 months long and temperatures dipping to -30 degree or colder so I really want to make sure I do the right thing!

RE: Winterizing
Yes, Fog the engine. Remove the spark plugs to do it. Mark all the plug wires with a flag of mask tape, and numbers, if they are not already marked., them remove the plugs. Spray a good long blast of fogging oil in each cylinder, and turn the motor over BY HAND. A breaker bar and a deep socket on the front pully should turn the motor with the plugs out. after turning the motor over, spray a short blast again. Put the plugs back in.
While you are there, check all the exhaust manifold bolts for tightness.
Do not forget the heater and shower, if equipped.
