GM 350 Vortek Rebuild Kit for PCM 330

I am looking for a rebuild kit for a 2004 PCM 330 Excalibur engine. There are multiple kits available for a 350 GM SBC at significantly less than those labeled "Marine" 350 GM Vortek. From what I can gather, the only difference in the kits is the Marine gasket set and the freeze plugs are brass for the Marine kit. To my understanding, the piston is the same and the cylinder head is the same if purchased for the equivalent of a 99 Chevy Tahoe. Has anyone used a 99 Chevy Tahoe kit just the same and is there something I am missing about the difference in kits? ie rocker arms, piston rods, timing, etc.

I did search for other threads and found similar but not exact question

Why are you rebuilding? Did something fail internally? Theses engines can go forever with minimal issues.

Call Discount Inboard Marine. They will have the best answers for you.

Would argue with the forever part with 3200 hours and multiple tows off the lake

3200 hours?!?! Wow! In MN, most people think 1000 is too many.

Sorry, but I don't have an answer for you.

That is a lot of hours. What types of breakdowns have you experienced? My guess is with that many hours, you went through many fuel pumps, caps, rotors and plugs. Rebuilding bottom and top ends will freshen up the motor, but you still have to think about all the other attached items that make the engine run.

                Update from another mechanic
have worked on engines all of my life.......from machine shop owner to auto shop owner....the only difference is they use the factory hi performance four bolt block with the big valve heads...they do use a different cam/head gaskets/and freeze plugs....all other accessory's will bolt right on
