Hi,
Changed the steering cable on my boat yesterday and while contorting myself into various positions I realized that the support upright that holds the dash and step for now entry was cracked on the driver's side.
Seems to be white metal or aluminium wrapped in the carpet.
I was going to take it out and fabricate a new one, but can't for the life of me figure out how the bolt comes out of the floor. Each support has 1 bolt on the floor and another that must originate behind the vinyl panel at the walkthrough for the upper connection.
The floor bolts on both sides are loose, and they just spin. Seems like maybe it is a machine bolt with a nut? But that makes no sense since they would have had to bolt the support before dropping in the floor...
Any advice on how these supports come out?
For now, I drilled 2 holes and through bolted the top. Seems in general like a bad design.
