Zero Off issue surging ...... puck ?

2008 SAN 210 , i believe this is the original Zero Off system that came on the boat. It has started surging and not holding speed , wake speed or surf speed jump all over the place. I've read post about the antenna puck going bad , is there a way to check this ? also , do i just buy the round original replacement or is there a better system now ? Looks like a replacement round antenna is $429 . Thanks for your input !

When we had this issue in our 2004 210 it was the paddle wheel was worn. Apparently it takes input from both speeds and will cause surging.

I believe there is an update (probably through dealer). I remember having that issue and the software needed updated.. For my problem, that cured it.

Don't go back to the round puck, assuming they're even still available. The newer "R2" is the one to get that will solve the porpoising and surging issues. Unfortunately as you've noticed, it's a bit pricey and will require both the newer model puck and a software upgrade.

I sent an email to Zero Off to see what they said , they said i need to try to run in RPM mode and see what it does. If it works without surging and holds RPM then it for sure is the puck . Thanks for the input , i think i will go with the newer antenna if it does end up being the puck. Its just money , right ? If we love our boats , it goes without saying .
