Leaving the NL4 set up for the speedo gauge should continue to work as is after the SG retrofit. How’s does the NL4 interface with the “series” style daisy chain connectors for the gauges work? I tried just unplugging the connectors on the back of the gauge that was reacting to the false low pressure alarms as a poor man’s way of getting it to stop, but that rendered all of the gauges dead, hence my inference they are connected in “series”.

i would call PP tech support as they probably have worked through this permutation of set up - their support is awesome.

Nautique went or zero off in 08. As a zero off guy with the upgrade to zero off , I wish every day I am on the water I had a perfect pass module. This first edition zero off is brutal for the 08, at least on the wake/ surf side.

zero off is more a slalom specific module than a wake module.

        Thanks.
Specific to my 2004 Nautique 206 where the PP is NOT integrated into the Faria box. I upgraded my system to a stargazer from a single line paddle wheel. Replaced the PP box, added the GPS puck, swapped in the 4 line display.. Also rewired to the dash to supply sufficient power to the PP, a common problem.

Water temp works correctly when shown the PP display. This temp is sourced from the paddle wheel unit. On mine, I have two inputs a) GPS puck and b) paddle wheel.
I don't recall air temp on the PP.
Analog speedo on my boat is completely separate from the PP. Uses pitot pickups the Faria box. I believe yours is different on the 2007...might use the PP paddlewheel unit.

Yes, '07 uses the paddle wheel. No pitot tubes.

I confirmed that this is the case with my '07 with Aaron at Perfect Pass. I think I will leave the NL4 hooked up--it makes sense to me that it should still work to provide the analog speedometer with a speed input because it's really just installed to provide a speed signal, just like the paddle wheel does.

If that doesn't work, I'll just remove it and go back to the paddle wheel. I guess the analog gauge is redundant, but having a gauge that doesn't work (or intermittently works) grates on my OCD-ness.

On my 2004, I have disconnected the pitot tube lines from the Faria box out of an abundance of caution. Reasoning is if something fails with the pitot system, water will enter the control box....likely killing it. Don't want to risk it.

This means my dash speedo is inoperative.

As you mention, it's no big deal as the Stargazer has an big MPH display that's easy to read.

Yes, but that doesn't factor in the aggravation I would feel every time I looked at that analog speedometer pegged at 0. The struggle is real!

I really appreciate all the help here. The weather is finally turning and the snow and ice are melting here in MN. I XC skied for the last time yesterday. Boating season is on the horizon!

randykenepp My plan is to keep it to run the analog speedo, but if that doesn't pan out, I'll let you know.

As long as your PP display is good, I highly recommend the Nautic Laugic. It works very well.

MN Ryan on the Nautic Laugic page it says something about DBW modules dont have a paddle wheel connector to mate the NL4-PP to. I have an 07 226, should be similar to your 211. Do you know if this applies to my boat as well? Or I should be good to go.

@randykenepp You'd want the NL4-CC. It's made for the '06-'09 Nautiques. It connects to the Gateway, and it's an easy install.

Definitely drop them an email with questions. They were very responsive and helpful when I did it last year.

To mount my stargazer module, I just backed the gateway box out a couple turns and put a zip tie behind it then used a little bit of 2 inch Velcro to attach it to the current gateway box. And then tightened the gateway box.

Trying to mount the stargazer box somewhere else down below, further up into the dash area is just too hard to reach. And didn't make any sense, the thing has no weight to it so it's a perfect place to just Piggyback it on the existing box with a little Velcro and a zip tie for good measure :-) easy access!

Alright, I got StarGazer installed on my '07 SV211TE last night. Overall, it went smoothly and didn't take too long (1-1.5 hours). The instructions from Perfect Pass were excellent. I won't know that it works till I can get the boat wet, but it appears to be functioning as intended. The hardest part was contorting myself to fit my 6'2" frame under the helm.

I put the StarGazer master module on the upper left under the helm. It's out of the way and easily accessible. I put the GPS puck on the dash under the windshield. I Dremeled out a groove for the cable. The new display looks great!

I fired it up, and the GPS locked in quickly.

For those of you that have done this, did you disconnect the P12 cable? I think it just runs from the Gateway to the old Perfect Pass display, so it shouldn't be needed. It should be fine to remove, correct?

Congrats on the install. If it acts weird (unit cuts out at times)...it's almost for sure low voltage to the unit. You can put the unit in diagnostic mode and it will display the realtime voltage. I've done two installations ('97 Ski, 04 206) and both had this issue. I solved by adding a switched relay with dedicated power and direct ground to the battery. For some odd reason, seems to an achilles heal of the Nautique dash. Maybe it is solved by your year......

I took my 2006 SANTE out for a couple hours. With the stargazer upgrade everything worked perfectly all my analog gauges work as well.

Pulled my son wakeboarding for probably 40 minutes no problems!
