2006 SANTE 210 - Starboard side kick panel under the dash placement

Here is another question - I am trying to figure out if this panel is mounted correctly and in the right place - Starboard side kick panel under the dash. I hate being OCD, but I want to make sure this is the way it was assembled at the factory.



Is it supposed to fit flush against the angled mount (picture below) on the floor?



I have it attached flush against the mount, as seen in the first picture. The picture below is the view up under the dash. It seems like the kick panel is at a very steep angle.



Any thoughts or comments are greatly appreciated.
