Has anyone installed and used the Perko Pro Flush kit on their boat for winterizing? It looks like a pretty nice system but I was hoping some one had experience with the system. If you do use the system, does it get the antifreeze into the heating system? Thanks.

I have not used this product but built something similar with parts from hardware store
To do the exact same thing and it works perfectly. Garden hose into the antifreeze and turn valve and run engine til you see pink out exhaust. This will not Winterize the heater system though.

hi trsulliv - wondering if anyone else responded privately on this? or if anyone else has anything to say?
i am approaching my third time winterizing my 2010 SANTE 210, and relying on the fake-a-lake to provide cooling is the scariest part of the process for me. i am planning this year to try disconnecting the intake and putting it directly into a bucket of water i can monitor, but then i saw this.... PERKO Flusk-Kit.
this looks fantastic!!!! an easy way to accomplish the same thing, to cut in coolant directly.
i'm wondering though if it really works, easy to use, and will it brake? i''m a bit worried about having something down there on my intake line that might come apart or start leaking out on the lake.....
anyone have any thoughts on this?
thx

I'm too old fashion and just don't trust doing it this way especially with a heater in the loop. The vDrive drain being so low always worries me as well. I just like the idea seeing all that water come out of the drains as I check each one of them off the punch list I created.
I know this works well for others but I just can't get myself to trust this method.

I have a friend with one and the short answer is yes it will break. If you are in the habit of checking it occasionally, and more importantly making sure you are not exceeding normal operating temperature before you leave the boat dock then yeah go for that. Regardless of method, waiting for the pink stuff to come out the exhaust is always a bit nerve-racking, imho. But be reminded that your engine is fine without water until it goes over normal operating temperature. The only thing that get's wrecked is the impeller. Your oil is getting pumped around regardless of engine temp.
Intake into the bucket filled with rv antifreeze is great way to see level going down and verify actual suction. Fake a lake is fine. Any method works. Methods where you can verify the suction right away are best for anxiety cause you know right away it sucking anything in.
