2015 PCM ZR409 - Oil Capacity

What is the oil capacity on a 2015 PCM ZR409? It is hard to good a good reading on my dipstick.

I use DEXOS GEN 2 5W-30 (Mobile 1) since that is what is recommended in this 2019 PCM Service Advisory https://www.planetnautique.com/vb5/f...specifications

I have the 409 in my 2016 230 and just did my oil change. Mine took roughly double that amount. It took two full dexos jugs and then some.

My boat is a 2015 Carbon Pro. One person on Waterski Hub is saying 4.5 qts for the Carbon Pro with a 409.

Is it bad to drain your oil at the end of the season (now) but wait to fill it back up until the beginning of the season (April/May)?

You will find a lot of different opinions on the web on the fall vs spring oil change but consensus seems to be to do it in the fall.

i am pretty sure you going to build up same amount of condensation over the winter regardless of when you fill. i would just get it done.

Honestly, I just changed on the 50 hour interval regardless. In other words if at end of season if i had 40 hours on oil, i would leave it and change 10 hours into the next season.

Really, it going to be fine. Don't believe the hype on having to store with fresh oil. Any bad stuff in the oil will move around and get in the oil when you bring up to operating temp the next season...

Of course many shops changed oil when they get the boats at end of season, because that is when they get most boats. Somehow that became you can't store with old oil...yeah, no...

I'd be hesitant to leave it without oil just on the unlikely chance that you may forget and start it without oil in the spring.

Sounds about right. I was mostly worried that if I drained the oil now but waited to refill it until spring, maybe some seals, o-rings, whatever might dry out. It's not worth over-thinking, which most of you have said. I'll probably just change the oil now so there's less to do in the spring.
