Hello, I am having trouble with my GT-40 engine. It initially starts and the runs about 5 seconds then dies. The only way to get it started is to push down the throttle and it will start but needs to run at 1500-2000 RPM until it is warm. Then it runs okay, but occasionally you have to go back and do the same. The plugs are replaced, they were quite wet with fuel? On the forums it sounds like maybe my ECT or ACT sensors. I am in Canada = cold lakes. Any folks out there that can help…even part numbers would be great. No nearby Nautique dealers. Thanks, Tom

There is an IAC - Idle Air Control valve located on the throttle body. It controls the amount of Air entering throttle body at idle. Its common for them to fail, or get dirty and act up.
A good cleaning, including a the little air screen that should be in there (if I recall).
Its a relatively easy job and worth a shot.

Runs poor cold but ok warm? Sounds like something with the cold run cycle. Would review the sensors tied to the circuit and test / replace anything that's not right. I believe the GT-40 manual will guide you, you can download from this site's really good download section.2004 206 Air Nautique Limited - Black with Vapor Blue (family style)
1997 Masters Edition Nautique - Zephyr Green - gone (amazing ski wake)
1982 Mastercraft Powerslot - gone (a primitive but wonderful beast)

Here is the service manual https://www.planetnautique.com/Corre...e%20Manual.pdf.
Here are the Ford part numbers for these parts-they are not PCM's numbers they are not marine parts, nor do they need to be. PCM just re-branded these Ford OEM parts.
ECT, F2AZ-12A648-A ACT, F2DZ-12A697-A IAC, E9SZ-9F715 these parts also have aftermarket alternatives which should cross reference. I would follow windsurfnut's number 3 post above-there is a thick screen which you could check and clean with carb cleaner after you remove it. Also a picture of Felpro's part number for a gasket.
