Fuel Control Cell mount for 95 Sport Nautique

I have purchased the retrofit fuel control cell for my 1995 Sport Nautique with 351 Ford PCM GT40 motor. The bracket that came with it looks like it will fit other than the fact the two holes that the bolts are supposed to go into, one is not there. There is a bottom hole but the top has something screwed into it that is not budging when I try to turn it (the hole beside that thing is too small for the bolt). I have attached a picture of it, it looks like just a loop on the end of a bolt. Can I take that out and put the mounting bolt in its place? Is that where the top mounting bolt goes? I may have to take a hose off first to get to it better.

    Thanks!

I went back out and took the hose off that was in the way and got that piece out that was screwed in where the mounting bolt goes. The bolt is the right size and now the holes line up but the bolts are way too long. I screwed one in and it did not go far before stopping. I guess the bolts just came the wrong length.

Bracket to cylinder head bolts are shown as being 3/4" long. Why are you putting a FCC on?

The thing you removed is a lifting eye, if you ever needed to remove the engine. Could you not re-use that for the bracket? I can't tell if it would be in the way of the FCC.

Well I wanted to reply while I was at work but they have this site blocked for some reason.....I came home and went straight to work and got it put on. I went and bought 3/4" bolts and they worked, I could have used the "lifting eye" i guess but did not think about that. I had to buy some fuel line and got everything hooked up but then it got dark and I have to put a new exhaust hose over the unit reaching over to the thermostat. So ill try to crank it tomorrow. I will post again tomorrow esp if I have any problems.

When we bought it the guy we bought it from said it needed it. He said it would vapor lock when you cut it off and it does. You can run it as long as you want to, but once you cut if off it will not crank back up until the temp comes back down to 160. Sometimes it takes an hour for that to happen. I talked to the guys at the marina and they said the 95 was the first year of EFI in those boats and they had to change things in 96 so all the 95's have that problem.

Well mine is still running on it's original setup so that theory is off. I suspect your HP pump is tired/weak -a new one can be bought for 1/10 the price of the FCC kit and probably no more than an hour R&R

That may be the case by I already have it installed and of course now it will not crank. I had to buy some more fuel line to reach the unit but everything is hooked up correct. When I loosened the intake and output to the rails after trying to crank it, gas sprayed out with some pressure so I know its getting fuel and is under some pressure, and it will act like it wants to start but will not.
