Nautique 200V - Linc Display freezing

    Hi Guys,

Hope somebody might be able to help.

I have a 2013 , 200V with 190hrs. Boat is exceptional in everyway but unfortunately I have a bug with the LINC display.

The main functions work but if i press the settings tab, the screen flickers and the display freezes . The only way to get it to home is to turn off the isolator switch and reboot.

I am hoping a Software update will do the trick but I cant reset the screen or , process an update because of the dependency on the settings button and screen.

So, no what do I do , don't really want to have to buy a all new display.

I have tried to find feedback on the forums but haven't managed to find anything with a similar bug.

    Any advice , please please.

    Thanks in advance

    Mike

Sorry to hear about your issues with Linc, I have a feeling we'll be hearing more stories like this as these systems age.

I certainly don't have any magic bullets but probably the best place to start without replacing parts would be with power. All of these systems are very sensitive to power and ground, as such I would start there and ensure that both are in excellent condition. Start with checking the condition of the cables, cable ends, connections points and the health of the battery itself. Check the power at the battery then at the switch and look for any voltage drops between the battery, the switch, the bus bars and finally the power at the Linc system. Power switches in particular are known for going bad and any voltage drop between the battery and the Linc system can cause havoc with the operation of the system.

Unfortunately since the system seems to operate normally with the exception of one key it is very possible that you have a panel that is going bad. Being in South Africa IDK if looking into repair in the states is an option but there was a guy on the MC site that was repairing displays if you want to try and go that direction. He may also be willing to give his more informed opinion as to what's going on with your system and what, if any actions you can try to side step this problem. Here's a link to a post he did on the MC TT site.....
