    ZR450 Heater Winterization

    Hello,

I have a 2015 Nautique G21 with a ZR450 (non coastal). I was reading this link winterizing as well as the pcm manual and owners manual for the 2015 G21. Is all I need to do to winterize the heater, is drain the heat exchanger both the fresh water drain as well as the water drain/zinc anode and spray 50psi worth of air around in there? Do I need to run antifreeze through any hoses to get to the heater or anything?

Additionally, should I remove all of the drain plugs on page 65 of the pcm manual figure 15-4 and leave them out all winter? All I did to the engine thus far was take off the intake hose by the batteries and run antifreeze through it and the ballast tanks. Is that sufficient?

    Thanks in advance!

Your heater has antifreeze running through it no need to worry about it. As far as winterizing the boat goes this is all I ever do and I live in Canada where the temps have gotten to -50C a couple times over my 7 years of ownership and never once had an issue and I store mine completely outside. Run boat on hose to operating temperature at idle for about 5 min. Disconnect hose and run roughly 25 litres of plumbers antifreeze through the cooling system by sucking out of 5 gallon pale. Then remove water pump impeller and set aside till spring. To make this easier I T into my fresh water pick up at the bottom of the boat with another valve and garden hose adapter. So much easier and faster then removing plugs.

nohlan_4 so basically all you do is run engine for 5 min, run antifreeze through engine, then take out impeller?

5 min once it's already at operating temp to make sure the exhaust tstat is fully open. But other then that yes.
