That appears structural to me.
Towers are painted. There is no gelcoat on towers.
I would plan for a tower replacement on that boat. It appears that it got water in it, the water froze, and the pipe cracked.I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. Jeff already covered it but I'll +1 him on this. That's not gel coat and something is cracked and moving in the tower. That could be ground out, welded and recoated but that would be one expensive repair. I'm thinking 4 or 5 grand to do the work but a dealer would be a better way to go for a real estimate. Not sure if getting a new tower would be an option at this point as the boat is 8 years old now. A call to Roswell would get that answer and an idea of what the cost would be.

Yeah, that's a Diamondback tower.
You might consider replacing it with a Roswell Aviator. The only issue there is that the factory bimini top (if the boat has one) will not fit that tower.I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. Sorry I misspoke, it was powder coat not gel coat. Either way, pricey fix so will likely pass on her... unfortunate as the rest was very clean.
I could probably live with it but I rather not deal with it when I goto sell for an eventual upgrade!
Thanks everyone for input!

I looked at this hard... Is that for sure cracked under that color? From here it almost looks like a large flake. Can you peel that to reveal the aluminum surface underneath? Obviously if it cracked underneath that colored surface, than yes it would probably be not cheap... The welding part wouldn't be the expensive part, it's the sanding, painting and blending the color - which any high caliber body repair shop 'should' be able to complete. I saw something similar on an older tower once at a joint, and it was as if they sprayed too heavy in that area and maybe didn't prep as well and large flake came off some years later.. Nothing was wrong underneath and it had not been in an area where freezing occurs (south Fla). If the price is a bargain - might be worth further investigation? Best of luck in your search

Unfortunately I can’t ask seller to peel away more as I’m sure he wants to preserve what he can.
what do you think of this 2014 G21 with 335 hrs @95k vs a 2021 210 with 15 hrs for 110k? Seems like the latter would be the right thing to do right?
I don’t need a pro wave but I do like the extra room in the bow and the sliding rear seat.

Depends on your main use and body of water. If a larger lake, the higher freeboard of the G21 is helpful. If you are wakeboarding, the G21 wake shape is far better. But if you are surfing, the 210 is a good boat. Add about 800 lbs of lead and the wave is solid.
The 210 is likely also a better value. But it really depends on motor and accessories.

To grind and weld those cracks is like $4-500 tops at a competent welding shop. Now from there you have 2 choices, get a can of color match 2 part spray paint custom mixed at an auto body supply store. Or you can pull the whole tower off and get it powder coated. Obviously the second option will be more expensive.
As for the price of those boats, man have things gotten out of hand. I sold my 2014 G21 fully loaded with the XR7 motor 3 years ago for $100k CAD.

I have the exact same thing in the exact same spots on my 2013 tower. I have worked with my dealer and Roswell regarding this issue. It was determined that Roswell used bondo at these joints to smooth out the seems prior to painting. After a full inspection it was deemed all cosmetic and not structural at all.
