The owner's manual recommends changing the fuel line pre-filter RP077014 once per year. This is an inline filter for the low pressure fuel pump that feeds the FCC canister.

To my knowledge it had not been replaced by prior owners. I disconnected the fuel supply line (blue arrow in photo) and plugged the line so fuel would not flow out while I changed the filter.
The issue was the back flow (or emptying) of gas from the low pressure pump itself. After collecting ~2 gallons of fuel I aborted the mission as I was not prepared for so much gas to back flow out. I was expecting a cup or so like the FCC filter change. After two gallons of gas it showed no signs of slowing down.
Has anyone done this and any tips, pointers, etc? Thanks as always.
