Faria CS 0573 C fuel gauge replacement

I have a bad Faria fuel gauge in my 2005 SAN. I tried replacing the sender but that did not help. I sent the gauge to Faria for them to overhaul but the sent it back and said they do not support this gauge anymore. I bought a Faria 19001 Kronos gauge to replace the old one but it has 3 posts and a blade connector for backlight instead of the 2 plugs with 4 prongs each that the CS0573C has. Does anyone know how modify the wiring to make the new gauge work?

You can't.

Your gauge uses a serial connection from the Faria gateway. The new one connects directly to the fuel level sender in the tank.

I may have a fuel gauge from that era that I could sell you. Let me check and get back to you.

Do you know if there is a way to test my old gauge to see if it is the culprit? I replaced the sending unit and it didn’t help. All my other gauges work so I am assuming my gateway is good.

Only suggestion is to connect it to a different boat and see if it works.

You may be able to just connect any gauge to the plug to try. I seem to remember that is what I was told to do since they are essentially daisy chained. It is sad that these gauges aren't supported and Nautique isn't authorizing Faria to make any Gateways.

I checked, and I do not have any of that particular fuel gauge. I have the next version that Nautique used, but not that one. Sorry!

I called Faria and talked to a tech., he said I could use the new gauge but I would have to run a wire from the Gateway box (in the starboard aft locker) to the gauge and might have to switch gauge location to put the new fuel gauge at the end of the series. I’m having my steering cable replaced so I will probably have him run the wire for me.

I just replaced all my gauges and the fuel was the last one standing as I recall. PM me and we can talk

I just checked my emails and Faria had informed me a few years ago that you can take one of your gauges and place it anywhere in the series and that way you could check the gauge for sure... IE: take the bad gauge and connect it to a known good plug and confirm that way.

I tried switching the fuel gauge with the voltmeter putting the fuel gauge at the end of the series. Fuel gauge is still dead.
I am going to run two wires from the sender to the newer style fuel gauge. The new gauge has 3 posts one for ground, one for sender, one for switched power. I will run the ground and switched power from the power outlet on the panel. I will report back how it goes.
The best solution would be to replace the gauge with an original style gauge, good luck finding one.

It was a sad day when Nautique teamed up with Faria . They don't support many of the 10 year and older gauges. My hour gauge stopped at 999.9 on my 08 210 no support or fix from Nautique or Faria.

SG, where did you source your fuel sending unit, and do you know the part #? I replaced all my gauges in my '05 SANTE, and now the fuel gauge always reads full. I'm thinking I need to replace the sending unit, but not sure which one I need after looking at Nautiqueparts.com.
