I dropped my boat at the shop for the polish/paint in Sept, and thought I'd better chuck this 4 liters of -50 Deg RV I
have in the garage. Engine was at operating temp. I usually run 8 liters through each winter.
You see in this town when people say done in two months it could be two years :O. So in November, went back to the shop and said, hey guys you have to drain the block as I did not. "oh yeah no problem, we do that all the time". Called again to confirm they winterized the motor.
So this week a buddy of mine went to check out the finished painting and looked at the block. Not drained. So we pulled my hose clamp I have there and it was full of pinkish water. Frost plugs in place, no evidence of any leaks or damage.
As an experiment, took a bowl and mixed 3 parts water to 1 part RV, put in freezer at -18DegC. It turned slushy & I could cut it with a knife.
Historical records show we hit lows of -10DegC. I think we should be OK.
