First, brand new to the forum...if I'm doing anything wrong, my apologies and please let me know.
Brought home our family's first Nautique on Saturday afternoon (2021 SAN 230 w/ZZ6). Couldn't be more pumped. Went out Sunday for Mother's Day maden voyage. For the most part, great day learning the boat and riding. Toward the end of the day, after pulling a tube for around 5 minutes (small kid, fairly steady cruise around 16mph...nothing crazy), boat was in neutral idling while pulling in the tube and swapping out riders. A few minutes later, sat down at the helm to start driving again and found a WARNING diagnotic message on the LINC screen (see attached pic). If you can't see the pic, it said:
POSSIBLE PERFORMANCE LOSS, TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION AND CONTACT YOUR DEALER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
DTC 301: Cylinder 1 emissions/catalyst damaging misfire
SPN: 1323 FMI: 31
At this point, nothing had happened or sounded abnormal. Motor was running fine...definitely not down a cylinder. When put into gear, it would idle but if I gave it any throttle, it would start to go and then not rev...seemingly in some sort of limp mode. Quick phone research wasn't helpful and I couldn't get a hold of anyone from dealer (closed Sundays and it was Mother's Day...didn't expect to get an answer back). At this point, I shot the motor...restarted...and then all seemed fine. Operated normally (no limp mode) and didn't throw another code message before we got off the water.
So...any ideas? Something to be concerned about?? Just address it at the next service??? I seem to recall that I read/saw somewhere (but now can't find it again) that the messages come in three levels...1) don't worry about it until next service 2) take it in before next service 3) and **** it off now before she blows, but I couldn't see anywhere if it was giving it that sort of qualification.
I should also mention, it is not new. It was used by a local ski school but properly maintained, so high hours on the motor...broken in to be sure. Thanks in advance for any help, and stoked for our first summer on a Nautique!
