    New 2022 Nautique 200 Power/Prop Question

Quick question, has anyone switched out the prop on their 2022 Nautique 200 with the stock ZR4 6.0L engine?

According to my dad (long time competitive skier in his early 80's and still skiing the course weekly), their new 2022 200 is underpowered out of the hole compared to the 2017 200 they traded it for. He has been told to switch to higher octane fuel to address the concern- apparently according to Nautique and PCM, this will make a significant difference. By higher octane, they say from regular 87ish to 92ish. I can't imagine this would make a noticeable difference on power- I had this same or pretty similar engine in my 2019 SAN210.

Insight would be much appreciated, especially on replacing the stock prop (I am not sure what it came with from Nautique) to increase pull.

    Thanks!

All respect to your dad. Course skiing into the 80s is the real deal. I suffer and I am early 40s.

I do not know what is meant by underpowered. I have skied many boats and own a new model 200. The 200 is fine with plenty of power. I am no jumper, but a competitive jumper may prefer the 450. With regard to octane, I only run 92, without concern for power.

He's been doing it for 5+ decades and competed regularly up until a few years ago.

Apparently, they (the club members who own the boat) feel there is a noticeable difference in power/pull/torque out of the hole between the 2017 and 2022. They are looking to try a new prop, so I said I'd ask around to see if anyone has switched props on this model, and if so to what prop.

Noticed this on the Natique build site. It states to use 644 or 645 for a Team addition.

381-4-Blade, Left Hand Rotation Prop (13.5″x17.5″x1-1/8″ bore) for NON-Team V – drive Nautiques
NOTE: TEAM edition V-drives (or V-drives with center tanks) use prop # 644 or 645

          Sport 200 (200v) Prop Recommendations

This page is just to provide general information about which prop may be best for your boat.
As a general rule, the prop that the factory put on the boat is the best general use prop. Use this guide if you are wanting to change the performance of the boat or using the boat in a way that calls for a different prop.

          PROP USE NOTES
381 General Stock prop for many
645 General/wakeboarding Bit more pulling then 381/sometimes called team prop
1433 Loaded Not recommendedby the factory –Clearance is marginal
1617 Extremely Loaded Not recommendedby the factory –Clearance is marginal
1579 Loaded/wakeboarding Power/pulling prop- gives most hole power
          ACME 645, 4 Blade, Left Hand Rotation Prop (13.25″ X 16″ X 1-1/8″ bore)
