    NCRS Overcurrent Circuit Error

Click image for larger version Name:	IMG_0050.jpg Views:	0 Size:	29.5 KB ID:	651397
2020 G23 starting throwing a "Circuit Fault" error message - "NCRS Tab overcurrent circuit fault" a few months ago. Happens when plate is under load at higher speeds - wakeboarding - but not when wakesurfing. Dealer has replaced the actuator twice but that has not solved the problem. If anyone else encountered this issue, and was able to resolve it, please let me know what you or your dealer did. Thanks.

I just had a similar experience with a 2018 gs22. Mine was for the port side NSS over current 25 amp failure. My dealer told me he was 99.9% sure it was an actuator failing. I ordered the part and will install this weekend. Hope this helps and I also hope he was right….pretty spendy part.

Please update the thread here with your results. That way if someone else has the same problem we have a potential fix.

Update. I installed a new NSS actuator this weekend and tested the boat today. Ran it for 20 minutes in full surf mode with no issues. No overcurrent error appeared and port side NSS functioned as it should.

Also for anyone interested in a repair of a NSS actuator for a 2018 GS 22 or any boat with the actuator recessed into the hull on the inside and not the outside I know how. Mind you in my opinion this is an issue with Nautique as is a poor design in my opinion. It is a difficult fix and takes some time. I used marine grade debond to break the 5200 glue. You will need this, some auto wedges, new 5200 and some patience.

I am getting an "NCRS tab short circuit fault" warning. however, surfing doesn't seem to be effective. The dealership wants $140/hour to pull it out of the water, diagnose and fix. i am trying to figure out if there's a way to avoid this costly endeavor. help? please?

Does your NCRS work at all? What if you reset the alarm? The actuator is easy to get at for NCRS. You can also check these with a jumper wire and a battery to see if they go in and out. My fault was an overcurrent and my guess was it was a sticky actuator that Took more than 25 amps to close and kept causing the overcurrent. I would check the connector from the actuator and maybe test the actuator to see if it works. If connections are good maybe replace it.

Thanks for your reply! Yes it seems to be working correctly. Or if by ‘working’ that means the surf was normal and easily switched from left to right surfer. Is the actuator easy to find/test?

For clarification, NRCS and NSS are seperate systems. NSS is Nautique surf system and on each side of the boat. NCRS is Nautique correctable riding surfaces and in the middle of the boat at the rear. This is where your issue may be. The actuator is located behind the cover plate and goes from the boat to an adjustable plate on the bottle of the boat and should be easy to get at. Also has no effect on left and right surf but can shape the surf wave depending on settings.

Can you PM me? Im about to take one apart and was searching this very thing. Seems like most just replace them vs repairing them.
