Bilge pumps not working. Fuel gauge not registering.

    Hello,
    I have a 2006 220 SANTE.
I tried to turn on the bilges to see if they were working and i get nothing. I am wondering if you need to have water in the boat to trigger the bilges to come on.
My fuel level is not registering as well. Is this the fuel sending unit? is this located in the tank? Any assistance in this matter is much appreciated.

Yes, you need to have water in the bilge to get the pumps to run. If working properly, they should kick on for a second every few minutes, and if they sense water, they will stay on. You should hear them kick on for a second when you turn the bilge switch on. I just leave them on whenever the boat is in the water since they're automatic.

As for the fuel gauge, it could be several things--gauge, sending unit, Gateway. Are all the other gauges functioning? I hope that someone more knowledgable will chime in.
